From Bookworm to Classroom Magician: Maggie Carrico's Special Ed Adventures in Reading

       We live in a world where negativity can easily get the better of us. It is not uncommon to face criticism and judgment from others, but more often than not, we are our own worst critics. Despite that, there are those who choose to spread love and positivity wherever they go. Maggie Carrico is one of those people, and she does it through her love for books.

       Maggie is a lover of thriller and suspense books, and she started reading at a young age. From a young age, Maggie's love for reading was nurtured by her mother, who was a teacher. She and her brother spent their summers exploring the library and discovering new books. These experiences led her to become a strong reader throughout her school life. She now uses her love for reading to inspire others through her Instagram handle, @maggies.book.nook.

       Aside from being an influencer, Maggie is also a special education teacher for Kindergarten through second-grade students. The experience when she had an internship during high school ignited Maggie's passion for teaching, and she pursued a degree in special education.

       Today, she teaches young students who struggle with certain subjects, and seeing her students develop their love for reading is one of the most rewarding experiences for her. In addition to teaching, Maggie embraces hobbies that allow her to express her creativity. She enjoys crafting, playing volleyball, traveling, and thrifting.

       Despite her positive outlook on life and others, Maggie admits to struggling with maintaining positivity for herself from time to time. However, she lives by the quote,

       She encourages everyone to look for the bright side of things, no matter how difficult it may seem. She believes in spreading kindness whenever possible, as a small act of kindness can go a long way.

       As an influencer who loves reading, it comes as no surprise that Maggie would choose a book to bring with her on a solo backpacking trip, away from technology and immersed in nature. She opted for the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, which she has not read yet. It's a great choice as it offers an incredible adventure with the perfect balance of romance, magic, and action while being lost in the beauty of nature.
