"Don’t let the hard days win."
- these words from Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Mist and Fury have inspired many of us to keep pushing through the tough times. But for Kristy, a stay-at-home mom and book influencer, those words are more than just a quote - they're a mantra that has helped her overcome the isolation and challenges of motherhood.
Kristy's love for reading started at a young age, fueled by a fascination for scary stories that she and her brother would read together in their homemade fort. But as she got older, studying and work took over, and she found herself neglecting her love for books. It wasn't until she went on maternity leave that she had the time and energy to read for fun again.
But the transition to motherhood wasn't easy. After a miscarriage, Kristy felt isolated and alone. That's when she decided to start a bookish Instagram account to connect with other bookworms and content creators. Little did she know, that decision would change her life forever.
Through her Instagram account, Kristy has found a community of like-minded individuals who share her love for books and all things bookish. She's made new friends, discovered new books, and found a sense of belonging that has helped her through the tough times.
"Don’t be embarrassed about your hobbies and interests. Put yourself out there. Make a niche Instagram account, join a MeetUp group - you will find your people!,"
Kristy advises. And indeed, that's exactly what she did.
For Kristy, books have been a source of comfort, inspiration, and escape. And when she needs a more immersive escape, she turns to books like The Midnight Library by Matt Haig or The Measure by Nikki Erlick - books that take her on a soul-searching journey where she can disconnect from technology and immerse herself in nature.
Kristy's story is a reminder of the power of books to bring people together and help us overcome the challenges of life. So next time you're feeling isolated or alone, remember Kristy's words - "Don’t let the hard days win." Instead, pick up a book, connect with a friend, or join a book club. You never know where it might take you.
